So after the interview, long draggy conference call and the drive back to Raleigh. I was ready to relax. Well, that didn't happen since Tuesday is darts night. Now don't get me wrong. I like darts and all, but I really do need to practice more. Greg and I practiced Monday night but other than that I hadn't thrown competitively since the middle of September. Yeah, can you say rusty?
So anyway, Greg and I practice some and man, I'm not doing all that well. But oh well, my aim for the season is to have fun, and work on my game, but I'm not expecting to be any kind of expert. So I play my 301 game against someone who is better than her handicap indicates. The game is pretty even when much to my surprise I throw a Ton. A Ton is when you get over 100 points with 3 darts. So that was one of my goals for the season. But I have to be honest, thinking back on it at home, I don't think that I really got it. I think I only threw a 96, but no one said anything. And karma got me by making sure that I didn't win any other games that night. I did wind up winning the game in something like 29 darts. So that was good.
The cricket game wasn't that good. I suck at cricket and the person I was throwing against is really, really good and once again her handicap doesn't indicate that. She's freaky good at getting bullseyes. Double cricket and double 301 lost those too. For double 301, we just couldn't double out. That game took FOREVER. It was getting to the point of "I don't care who wins, I'm just flat out tired of this mess". We came close to winning in 801, but we couldn't double out. But my throws in that game were consistent, all over 40 points. But because we lost 801, we lost the match *sniff*
So I guess you would say that I've got some potential to be a good darts player. I just need to practice more. At least there is a decent bar to practice at near Greg's house. And he's got a dart board at his house too. Yes, we're a couple with activities to do together. How sweet.
